On Sunday afternoon, November 26, after lunch with Lisa & Julie, we went to visit Joyce and Bill. Joyce took us on a drive through the nearby Cypresswood neighborhood, to see the flood damage. Much of the cleanup has already been done, but she pointed out the brick fences that were demolished, the supplies stacked up at grocery stores and banks, the closed police station, library, and assisted living facility, and the innocent-looking bayou nearby. After the Harvey hurricane, these streets were completely inundated. Many of the homes are still empty, and we have found many of the residents at our hotel are Harvey victims re-located by FEMA. Here's a collection of our
Harvey Flood Damage tour.
After our neighborhood drive, Dianne and Joyce introduced each other to their favorite iPad/Android apps. We all delighted in playing Word Cookies, and left with some of Joyce's Famous Pecan Pie!!
